Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nick Holey (ranked 5133 p4p, 169 weight class) and Joca Carioca (ranked 4024 p4p, 152 weight class). Joca Carioca will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holey shoots in looking for a takedown but Carioca manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Holey's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Carioca keeps the fight on the outside.
Holey tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carioca paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Carioca counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Holey!

Carioca decides to stand back up. Carioca steps back and let's Holey get back to his feet.
Carioca looks for a takedown but Holey sprawls well.
Carioca has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Holey is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Holey swings for the body but Carioca moves out of range.
A countering left hand to the body from Carioca misses.

Carioca bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Carioca wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Holey, who protects the arm well.
Holey is trying to get back to his feet.

Carioca goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Holey rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Carioca's guard! Nice work there by Holey!

Carioca is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Holey could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Holey seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
