Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Max Ward (ranked 2119 p4p, 266 weight class) and Vlad Putin (ranked 2838 p4p, 340 weight class). Ward comes to the cage accompanied by Spazz - Crush Kill Destroy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward dives in for a single leg takedown but Putin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Putin throws a head kick but Ward moves out of range.
Nice body kick there by Putin.
Ward has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Putin stalks Ward and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ward's face. Ward staggers backwards, shaken.
Ward has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Putin appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Putin throws a series of punches but Ward avoids them all with ease.

Putin lands with a nice combination. Ward backs away looking to recover.

Ward looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
