Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Petey Williams (ranked 5864 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Worthy (ranked 5324 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Williams might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Wild Thing. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, James Worthy! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Worthy throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Williams counters with a single leg into guard. Worthy didn't expect that. Worthy looking for a sweep. Not yet Worthy, not yet. Williams decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Williams misses with a double jab.
Williams lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Worthy circles away quickly and effectively. The fight stays on the outside here - Worthy looks like he's thinking about clinching though. It looked like Williams was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Williams closes the distance and clinches. Williams has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. A frustrated look appears on Williams's face as he tries to break the clinch. Williams is trying to force a seperation but Worthy has the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Worthy jumps guard but Williams stands there with Worthy around his waist. Worthy gives up and drops back to his feet. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Williams connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Worthy's hands. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Worthy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Williams stays in close to Worthy's body and controls the position. Williams gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Petey Williams is winning the standup battle so far. A solid body kick from Williams. Williams lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Williams lands a jab. James Worthy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Williams attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
And that's the end of the fight! Petey Williams showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Williams, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
