The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, John Mangel and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McStafferson throws a combination that misses
enabling Benning to counter with a crisp jab.
Benning goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
McStafferson has a takedown stuffed.
Benning uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before McStafferson has time to react.
McStafferson fails with the takedown
and Benning counters with a lovely shot to the body.
McStafferson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Benning counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kaz McStafferson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

letting Benning counter with a right hand.
