The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson closes the distance and clinches.
Kirov drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kirov pulls guard effortlessly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but Kirov is retaining full guard.
Johnson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Kirov looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kirov is looking to stand up but Johnson isn't so interested in that idea.
Johnson is looking to work some ground and pound but Kirov has wrist control.

Johnson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kirov.
Johnson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kirov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Johnson throwing strikes from guard but Kirov blocks nicely.
Johnson wants to stand and escape but instead Kirov has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Kirov is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Johnson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Johnson keeping moving, preventing Kirov from controlling successfully.
Kirov prevents Johnson from getting back to his feet.
Johnson looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Kirov puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Johnson is looking to get back to is feet but Kirov passes into side control.
Johnson is looking to reverse the position.
Johnson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Johnson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Kirov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Johnson, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kiro Kirov dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Johnson closes the distance and clinches.
Johnson tightens his grip and picks Kirov up, before dumping him to the ground. Kirov manages to land in guard.
Kirov is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Johnson dives into side control.
Kiro Kirov has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kirov dodges the ground and pound from Johnson.
Kirov is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Johnson off and has taken his back!
Johnson trying to control the hands but Kirov breaks the grip.
Kirov controlling well, preventing Johnson from escaping the position.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Kirov's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Johnson tries to roll but Kirov sticks to his back.

Kirov has the hooks in. Johnson is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Johnson trying to get back to his feet but Kirov is in full control for now.
Johnson just trying to survive but Kirov is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Johnson won't enjoy being in this position. Kirov looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Johnson is tapping - it's over boys! Kirov picks up the submission victory!
