Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ram Rocker (ranked 720 p4p, 91 weight class) and Peter Batts (ranked 1745 p4p, 210 weight class). Rocker comes to the cage accompanied by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Batts is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Midnight City - By: M83. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ram Rocker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Batts! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rocker misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Batts.
A telegraphed right hand from Rocker misses the target. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Rocker throws a body kick that misses. Batts lands a jab to the nose. Batts scores with a crisp jab that stopped Rocker in his tracks. Batts misses with a low kick. Batts swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Batts moves out of range of the body kick from Rocker.
Rocker moves away from the strike by Batts. Rocker walks into a left hand. Rocker takes a swing at Batts's ribcage but misses. Rocker staying out of range there. No joy there for Rocker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A slow jab from Batts misses its intended target. Rocker ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Rocker throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Batts counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Rocker! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Batts connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Rocker some visible discomfort.
Rocker is trying to get back to half guard. Batts with the ground and pound but Rocker regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Batts working the head and body with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rocker is trying to maintain the position but Batts is very close to passing his half guard. Batts throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Rocker works his way to full guard. Good work. Batts postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Rocker looking to control.
Batts advances position into side control! Rocker regains half guard. Rocker tries to roll over but Batts keeps him under control. Batts landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Batts missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Batts is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Rocker avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Batts. Rocker is staying active underneath Batts, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Batts lands strikes from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rocker is pressing down on Batts's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Rocker throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Batts lands a couple of digs. Batts throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rocker works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Rocker looking for a guillotine here but Batts defends easily.
Rocker looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Batts landing with the ground and pound. Rocker had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Batts defends it easily. Rocker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Batts postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rocker controls Batts momentarily but Batts frees himself. Batts postures up in Rocker's guard and throws a big left but Rocker blocks it. Batts distracts Rocker with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Rocker keeping moving, preventing Batts from controlling successfully. Rocker is trying to keep Batts in close.
Batts landing some decent shots from guard. Batts landing some decent shots from guard. Rocker wants to sweep but no luck. Batts lands a couple of digs. Batts chips away with some ground and pound. Batts looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rocker looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Batts lands a couple of decent looking shots. Batts postures up and lands a big shot to Rocker's brow. Batts makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Batts tries to free his leg and advance position but Rocker is retaining full guard. Batts with a nice head shot there. Rocker has control of Batts's left arm, preventing Batts from doing any damage. Batts thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Batts trying to control but Rocker is working from the bottom. Batts avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Peter Batts dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Rocker lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Batts blocks a low kick nicely. Batts plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Rocker with a body punch. A glancing blow. Batts scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Batts wants to work for an arm triangle but Rocker is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rocker is trying to get back to full guard. Batts has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Rocker is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Batts pulls his head out easily. Rocker trying to control but Batts postures up.
Rocker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Peter Batts has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Batts is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Batts seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Batts looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rocker with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Batts wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rocker keeps working. Rocker is looking for a sweep. Batts is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Batts lands a nice short elbow. Rocker won't allow Batts to pass to mount. Batts lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Batts throws a strike but Rocker avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Rocker throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Batts tries to free his leg and advance position but Rocker is retaining full guard. Batts trying to control but Rocker is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rocker trying to control the position.
Batts throws a big elbow that misses. Rocker keeping full guard, as Batts tries to pass. Batts is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rocker is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rocker has escaped and now he's on top! Batts looking for a sweep. Not yet Batts, not yet. Batts is trying to control the position but Rocker postures up. Batts tries to land a sweep but no joy. Batts working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rocker. Batts is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Batts is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rocker sees it coming and defends easily. Rocker moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Batts with a nice head shot there. Rocker not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rocker avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Batts postures up in Rocker's guard and throws a big left but Rocker blocks it. Rocker looking for a guillotine here but Batts defends easily.
Rocker is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Batts connects with a couple of short punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Batts is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rocker is on top in guard.
Rocker with a nice head shot there. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Batts holds on and takes a little breather. Rocker throws a big elbow that misses. Rocker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Batts is trying to keep Rocker in close.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rocker pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Batts is keeping the position for now. Batts is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Peter Batts showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Batts throws a series of punches but Rocker moves out of range. Batts misses with a straight left. Rocker scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Rocker stuffs the takedown attempt from Batts. Batts gets slowly back to his feet. Rocker swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Good shot there by Rocker. Batts jabbing away but nothing is landing. Rocker thows a body kick. Batts tries to catch it but that hurt him. Batts moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Ram Rocker is winning the standup battle so far. Rocker misses with a hook. Batts ducked under it nicely. Rocker with a hook. Batts will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Nice takedown defense from Batts. No joy for Rocker on that attempt. Rocker slips under a jab from Batts. Rocker checks the leg kick nicely there.
Batts misses with a wild body shot. Rocker takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Peter Batts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Batts fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rocker staying out of range there. Batts has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rocker finds it's way round the side to connect with Batts's head. Batts throws a jab when Rocker was well out of range. Rocker slips a straight right by Batts. Nice cross by Rocker. The fight moves into the clinch position. Rocker managing to block the knees to the body from Batts.
Batts creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Rocker's defenses. Batts prevents a body shot from Rocker. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Batts just misses with a elbow thrown towards Rocker's brow. Rocker has a couple of punches blocked by Batts.
Rocker scores with a shoulder strike. A short right hand to the side of the head by Rocker. Rocker digs a right hand underneath Batts's ribcage. Batts let out a lung full of air as it connected. Batts takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Rocker lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rocker lands on the inside with an uppercut. Rocker pushes Batts back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. A short left from Rocker. Ram Rocker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Peter Batts is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice body punch from Rocker - that landed with a thud.
Rocker is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Batts pulls him back up using the underhooks. Rocker lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Batts or not. Rocker lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Rocker turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Rocker manages to end up in side control. Rocker lands an elbow. Batts tries to bench press Rocker off him but Rocker keeps the position. Batts takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Rocker lands a decent elbow from side control. Rocker connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Batts some visible discomfort.
Batts is trying to control Rocker's posture but Rocker avoids it. We've been hearing that Rocker has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Rocker grinds an elbow into Batts's temple. Batts is looking to reverse the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Batts takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Batts struggling a bit here. Rocker thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Batts manages to work his way to half guard, despite Rocker's best efforts. Rocker passes into side control, despite Batts's attempt to control the position.
Batts sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Batts is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rocker's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rocker's back! Batts punches Rocker on the ear. Batts has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Rocker has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Rocker tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rocker sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Rocker looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Batts is trying to control. Rocker wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Ground and pound from Batts. Rocker is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Batts pulls his head out easily. Batts looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Rocker actively working from the bottom here. Batts working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Batts trying to mount his opponent but Rocker defends it. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Batts lands a nice short elbow.
And that's the end of the fight! Ram Rocker showed his dominance in that final round. I think Batts has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
