Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Keiji Mutou (ranked 3692 p4p, 458 weight class) and Mike Smith (ranked 3192 p4p, 421 weight class). Smith is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Therion - Sitra Ahra. Keiji Mutou is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mutou misses with a double jab

and Smith counters with a head kick that drops Mutou to the mat! Mutou scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Mutou throws a body shot but no joy.
Mutou swings away with a body shot that misses
and Smith counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mutou misses with a jab, cross combination.
Smith doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Smith lands a lovely overhand right.

Mutou is rocked!
Mutou throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mutou moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

It looks like Mike Smith has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mutou with a jab.
No joy there for Mutou, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nice straight punches there by Mutou. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Mutou.

and Smith counters by moving into the clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Smith.
Mutou stalling in the clinch.
Mutou tries to work over Smith's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mutou misses with a wild combination.
Mutou ducks under a wild hook from Smith.
Mutou throws a body shot but no joy.
Smith connects with a single shot there.
Mutou takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Smith rushes Mutou and presses him up against the cage.

Mutou escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mutou lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mutou connects with a combination that backs up Smith into the cage. Mutou lands a flurry of punches that gets past Smith's guard. Smith is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Mutou bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Keiji Mutou!
After winning the bout, Keiji Mutou thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
