The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Pereira shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Williams Da Third sprawls well. Williams Da Third tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Horrible takedown attempt by Pereira or perhaps it was just good defense by Williams Da Third, which made it look bad. And Williams Da Third tries to counter it with a takedown but Pereira pushes his down on his head and steps out. Pereira changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Williams Da Third looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Pereira gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Williams Da Third pulls Pereira in to control the position. Williams Da Third has his foot on Pereira's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pereira works his way back into a safe position though. Pereira has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Pereira trying to control the position from guard on top but Williams Da Third is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Williams Da Third is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Williams Da Third looking for subs off his back but Pereira has passed one foot through into half guard.
Pereira wants to take a breather but Williams Da Third is having none of it.

Pereira defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Williams Da Third's arms. Williams Da Third has managed to slip his arm under Pereira's chin.
