Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Troy Morningstar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiz Carlos Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos Jr is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by I Gotta Feeling - Black Ege. Troy Morningstar is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Troy Morningstar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luiz Carlos Jr! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morningstar stuffs the takedown. Nice takedown defense from Morningstar. No joy for Carlos Jr on that attempt. Carlos Jr swats away the attempt to clinch by Morningstar. Carlos Jr avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Morningstar tries to clinch but Carlos Jr moves out of range. Morningstar could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Nice takedown defense from Morningstar. No joy for Carlos Jr on that attempt. Troy Morningstar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luiz Carlos Jr. Carlos Jr shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Morningstar but Morningstar pushes him off and we're back to square one. Morningstar misses with a takedown attempt and Carlos Jr counters with a nice double leg into guard. Carlos Jr postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Morningstar pulls Carlos Jr in to control the position. Carlos Jr is looking to work some ground and pound but Morningstar has wrist control. Morningstar seems keen to control Carlos Jr's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlos Jr slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Morningstar regains half guard, as Carlos Jr was trying to land strikes. Carlos Jr not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Carlos Jr sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Morningstar defending well though. Carlos Jr wants to work for an arm triangle but Morningstar is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Morningstar tries to kick Carlos Jr off but Carlos Jr keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Carlos Jr throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Morningstar avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Carlos Jr. Carlos Jr stalling.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Carlos Jr drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlos Jr throwing strikes from guard but Morningstar blocks nicely. Carlos Jr throwing strikes but missing. Carlos Jr trying to control the position from guard on top but Morningstar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Carlos Jr is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Morningstar managing to control the position. Carlos Jr wants to control from the top but Morningstar keeps moving. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luiz Carlos Jr dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Morningstar fails with the takedown and Carlos Jr counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Morningstar's guard now. Carlos Jr postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Carlos Jr trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Carlos Jr's corner is telling him to maintain position. Carlos Jr throwing strikes but missing. Carlos Jr advances to half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Carlos Jr throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlos Jr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Morningstar's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carlos Jr thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Carlos Jr is keen to just control but Morningstar is a slippery customer. Carlos Jr trying to mount his opponent but Morningstar defends it. Carlos Jr trying to control the action but Morningstar is working from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Carlos Jr with a lazy takedown attempt and Morningstar counters with a nice kick to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Carlos Jr scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Carlos Jr looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Morningstar is avoiding damage well.

Carlos Jr creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Morningstar sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Carlos Jr throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Carlos Jr sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Morningstar is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Carlos Jr tries to score with some ground and pound. Morningstar controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlos Jr in side control, throwing shots but Morningstar defends. Carlos Jr controlling the position from side mount.

Morningstar gets caught flat footed, as Carlos Jr shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Carlos Jr thows a big elbow that misses. Carlos Jr throwing strikes but missing. Carlos Jr's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carlos Jr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Carlos Jr throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Carlos Jr is stalling in the full guard. Carlos Jr thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luiz Carlos Jr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Morningstar gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Carlos Jr drops back looking for a leg! Morningstar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Morningstar manages to kick Carlos Jr off! Carlos Jr jumps back into Morningstar's guard. Morningstar trying to control the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlos Jr trying to control but Morningstar is working from the bottom. Morningstar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Morningstar avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Carlos Jr looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Morningstar preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Morningstar working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Carlos Jr. Carlos Jr has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Carlos Jr shoots in for a takedown but Morningstar shows good takedown defense. Carlos Jr shoots and misses and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Luiz Carlos Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carlos Jr shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Morningstar counters by clinching up. Troy Morningstar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luiz Carlos Jr.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morningstar struggles to land a body shot inside as Carlos Jr controls his hands.
Carlos Jr tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Carlos Jr works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Carlos Jr trying to control but Morningstar is working from the bottom. Morningstar is trying to control the position but Carlos Jr postures up. Carlos Jr trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carlos Jr working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Carlos Jr slips nicely into half guard. Carlos Jr in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Morningstar tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Carlos Jr!
