Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Royal Pain (ranked 1864 p4p, 222 weight class) and Gregory McVaughn (ranked 2969 p4p, 335 weight class). Pain's entrance music is AC/DC Thunderstruck. A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

16 - 12 - 2, fighting out of New York, Gregory McVaughn! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McVaughn steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pain. Pain dives in and grabs McVaughn's left leg, looking for a takedown. McVaughn pushes down on Pain's head and hops out. Pain misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McVaughn.
McVaughn tries a quick counter leg kick but Pain is wise to it. McVaughn closes the distance and clinches. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Pain working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. A shot in the inside from McVaughn. Pain tried to land a shot to the body but connects with McVaughn's elbow. McVaughn prevents a takedown attempt there.

This has been an exciting period of action! Pain shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. McVaughn manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Pain has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Pain is fighting to break McVaughn's control of his arms but McVaughn is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Pain looking to pass the guard. Pain is in close to McVaughn's body, working some short punches and elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McVaughn is controlling Pain's posture. Pain postures up and lands a big shot to McVaughn's brow. McVaughn preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. McVaughn is trying to control the position but Pain postures up. Pain throws a big right hand that misses. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pain accidentally thumps the mat. Pain is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McVaughn defends it well. Pain working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Royal Pain overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Pain throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Pain seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McVaughn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Pain works his way into full mount! Pain lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Gregory McVaughn. I think McVaughn has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
