Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shaun Mcintosh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Draco Daniels! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daniels clinches up with Mcintosh and pushes him back against the cage. Daniels lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Daniels wants to free his trapped foot but Mcintosh is holding on for dear life with his legs. Mcintosh manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Daniels keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Daniels looking to stall.
Daniels wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Daniels wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Daniels has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Mcintosh regains guard immediately. Daniels must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Daniels postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcintosh keeping moving, preventing Daniels from controlling successfully. Mcintosh looking for a guillotine here but Daniels defends easily.
Daniels working some strikes from top position. Daniels wants to control from the top but Mcintosh keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mcintosh had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Daniels defends it easily. Mcintosh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcintosh looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Daniels trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcintosh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mcintosh controls Daniels momentarily but Daniels frees himself. Daniels trying to control but Mcintosh is working from the bottom. Mcintosh working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Daniels has passed into half guard!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daniels is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Mcintosh is not content to let Daniels control the position. Mcintosh wants to control but Daniels is keeping busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Daniels trying to control from half guard but Mcintosh is working away. Mcintosh gets back to full guard.
Daniels wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Mcintosh's closed guard. He's half up but Mcintosh has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Mcintosh pivots and extends the arm, Daniels falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Mcintosh! Well done that man!
