Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Leo Vuce (ranked 2555 p4p, 237 weight class) and Rueben FiereFist (ranked 5100 p4p, 356 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leo Vuce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rueben FiereFist!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Dean Styles and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vuce fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging FiereFist to the ground. Vuce is now in FiereFist's guard.
Vuce is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
FiereFist not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Vuce postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Vuce gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The fight stays on the outside here - FiereFist looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
FiereFist lands with an overhand left.
FiereFist with a lazy takedown attempt

and Vuce counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Vuce is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vuce is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Vuce is looking for a kimura but FiereFist is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Vuce to get the leverage.
Vuce is taking a breather. FiereFist says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Vuce throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
FiereFist keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

FiereFist has one foot on Vuce's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

FiereFist gets caught flat footed, as Vuce shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Vuce stands up from FiereFist's guard - Vuce perhaps looking for a knockout.
FiereFist looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
FiereFist dives in and grabs Vuce's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vuce pushes down on FiereFist's head and hops out.
Vuce lands with a hook. FiereFist tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


FiereFist is rocked!
FiereFist has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
A combination from FiereFist does no damage.
Vuce attempts a counter takedown but FiereFist avoids it well and moves away.
FiereFist is still on wobbly legs! Can Vuce finish him?
FiereFist looks winded!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A momentary lapse in concentration from FiereFist enables Vuce to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. FiereFist manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Vuce controlling from the top position.
FiereFist seems to have recovered his senses.

Vuce decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Vuce moves into range and clinches up with FiereFist.

Vuce has dropped down and is working for a takedown. FiereFist is trying to keep an underhook but Vuce manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Vuce decides to return to a standing position.

Vuce moves into the clinch.
A hook to the body from Vuce.

Vuce jumps guard.

Vuce pushes FiereFist off and scrambles back to his feet.

Vuce moves into the clinch.

Vuce has FiereFist pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Vuce pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending FiereFist tumbling to the mat - Vuce dives into FiereFist's guard.
Vuce stays in close to FiereFist's body and controls the position.
FiereFist keeping full guard, as Vuce tries to pass.
FiereFist can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vuce controls the pace.
Vuce is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Death Valley Training Facility that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Vuce loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Vuce controls from within his opponent's guard.
Vuce seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down FiereFist for as long as he can get away with.

Vuce decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on FiereFist, up you get!
Vuce checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
FiereFist throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vuce stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vuce wants it to stay on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leo Vuce dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


FiereFist takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Vuce takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

FiereFist gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Vuce to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Vuce stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Vuce misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
FiereFist shoots in for a takedown but Vuce shows good takedown defense.
Vuce looks for the body kick but FiereFist saw that one coming.

FiereFist gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Vuce to score an easy takedown into full guard.
FiereFist is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Vuce dives into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Vuce content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vuce is working FiereFist over with some ground and pound from side control.
Vuce cracks FiereFist with a big right hand but FiereFist just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Vuce has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Vuce throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. FiereFist was covering up waiting for the punch and Vuce finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Vuce stays in close to FiereFist's body and controls the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

FiereFist is working an open guard so Vuce takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Vuce scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
FiereFist is breathing heavily.
Well, if Vuce is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Vuce moves into full mount! FiereFist won't be happy about that!

Vuce is working for a guillotine from mount but FiereFist frees his head quite easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vuce tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Vuce lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Vuce is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Vuce scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish FiereFist?
FiereFist wants to hold on but Vuce pushes him away.

Vuce postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have FiereFist in real trouble here! The ref calls for FiereFist to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Leo Vuce!
A less than humble Leo Vuce misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
The defeated Rueben FiereFist had this to say: 'He is a very good fighter. I will come back stronger next time you see me'.
