Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg Trevino (ranked 21174 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Gribbs (ranked 5219 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Greg Trevino! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wayne Gribbs! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Ron Honeybunn and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Trevino with that takedown attempt. Gribbs is looking to clinch but Trevino is avoiding it.
Gribbs looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. A quick step to the side and Trevino tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Trevino shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Trevino was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! You can see the frustration on Gribbs's face as Trevino controls the position. Gribbs is looking for a sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Trevino trying to control the action but Gribbs is working from the bottom. Gribbs wants to control but Trevino postures up. Trevino takes a little break here. Gribbs wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Trevino thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trevino slows the pace down. Trevino has control of an arm but Gribbs manages to advance to Trevino's back! Gribbs is hanging on to Trevino's back as he tries to escape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Trevino wants to control his opponent's hands but Gribbs gets his hands free. A lull in the action here.

Good control from Gribbs. Gribbs throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Trevino has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Will Gribbs go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gribbs's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Trevino.

Gribbs has a closed guard, preventing Trevino from standing up. Trevino drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gribbs manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Trevino has Gribbs in his guard. Trevino pulls Gribbs in close to prevent any damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Trevino wants to sweep but no luck. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trevino has a takedown stuffed. Trevino shoots in but no luck this time. Gribbs closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Trevino manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Trevino pushes Gribbs off and scrambles back to his feet.

Trevino manages to get full guard. Trevino has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Trevino not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gribbs stands up and waves to Trevino to follow him. Gribbs shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gribbs showed some decent athleticism there. Gribbs is thwarting Trevino's attempts to control the position. Trevino keeping hold of Gribbs's head, controlling as best he can.

Trevino keeps control of the position for the meantime. Gribbs has been the more effective fighter overall so far. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gribbs's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gribbs closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Trevino to the mat! Trevino manages to get full guard. Gribbs trying to control the position from guard on top but Trevino is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gribbs pushes down on Trevino's leg and manages to get into half guard. Trevino controlling the position for now. Trevino looking for submissions off his back. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Trevino avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gribbs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wayne Gribbs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Gribbs throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Trevino tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gribbs is in Trevino's guard. Trevino bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gribbs's guard.
Wayne Gribbs has got the better of the ground game so far. Gribbs is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Trevino sitting in guard here, content to control. Trevino seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gribbs for as long as he can get away with. Gribbs wants to sweep but no luck. Trevino controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Gribbs. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Gribbs has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Trevino can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Gribbs takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Trevino controls from within his opponent's guard. Gribbs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Trevino looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Gribbs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Greg Trevino is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Trevino closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Trevino is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gribbs knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Gribbs tries to buck Trevino off but Trevino is having none of it. Trevino takes a little break here. Gribbs wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Trevino tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Trevino content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gribbs is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Trevino off and has taken his back! Trevino trying to control but not successfully. Gribbs trying to control momentarily.

Gribbs gets his hands free as Trevino looks to control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gribbs wants to control but Trevino is keeping busy. Greg Trevino has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wayne Gribbs is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Trevino trying to survive by controlling the hands.
And that's the end of the fight! Wayne Gribbs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Gribbs has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
