Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Niko Marcell (ranked 2713 p4p, 292 weight class) and Kerry Howarth (ranked 3407 p4p, 334 weight class). Marcell kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Russia National Anthem. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kerry Howarth!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Illya Tyunina and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howarth looks to score with a jab to the body but Marcell is just out of range.
Marcell catches Howarth with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Marcell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Marcell connects with a crisp jab.
Marcell lands with a good body shot.
Howarth misses with a hook to the body
and Marcell counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Howarth escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marcell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Marcell trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Marcell is working Howarth over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Marcell advances position into side control!
Howarth is trying to control Marcell's posture but Marcell avoids it.
Marcell is chipping away with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Howarth tries to improve position but can't.
Marcell thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Marcell cracks Howarth with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Marcell lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Howarth down.
Howarth can't do much from the bottom here.
Marcell is chipping away with strikes.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Howarth can do anything to dispel that myth.
Marcell lands a few punches from side control.
Marcell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Marcell in side control lands a decent elbow.
Marcell cracks Howarth with a big elbow.
Marcell has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Marcell working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Marcell in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Howarth looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Marcell turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Niko Marcell!
A relieved looking Niko Marcell thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
