Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Piranha Chonan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
37 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Milo Brunswick! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chonan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brunswick moves away. Chonan needs to keep his hands up - Brunswick had a free shot at his head there. Brunswick throws a sloppy head kick and Chonan moves out of range easily. Chonan wants to clinch. Brunswick throws a head kick that misses. As Brunswick tries to get set, Chonan tries to push him back and clinch up but Brunswick manages to avoid the attempt. A jab lands there for Brunswick. Chonan takes the fight into the clinch. Brunswick tries to stall but Chonan uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Brunswick pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Brunswick throws a head kick that misses letting Chonan counter with a right hand.
It looks like Milo Brunswick has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brunswick misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Brunswick lands a body shot.
Chonan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Despite the aggression on Brunswick's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Chonan doesn't manage to clinch there - Brunswick circles away.
It seemed like Brunswick was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Brunswick gets tackled into the cage by Chonan. Chonan maintains the clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chonan comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brunswick's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Chonan misses with a body punch.
Brunswick breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Chonan is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Chonan has Brunswick up against the cage in a clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Chonan.
Brunswick tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Chonan avoids it. With the fighters up against the cage, Chonan throws an elbow but misses. Chonan is defending well against a takedown attempt. Chonan gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Chonan lands an elbow that stopped Brunswick in his tracks for a moment.
That has opened up Milo Brunswick's cut even more. Chonan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Brunswick escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Chonan swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nice cross by Chonan. Chonan has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Woods in the buildup to the fight. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Brunswick throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Brunswick fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Chonan manages to avoid it. Chonan seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Chonan avoids the head kick by Brunswick.
Chonan is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Brunswick. Brunswick connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Chonan momentarily.
Chonan with a nice cross. Brunswick scoring well with a low kick there.

Chonan scores with a decent looking hook. Chonan tries to clinch but Brunswick is having none of it. Brunswick closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Brunswick avoids a wild elbow strike from Chonan. Chonan lands an elbow that stopped Brunswick in his tracks for a moment.
The cut above Milo Brunswick's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Chonan throws an elbow that misses.
Brunswick can't get the takedown.
Chonan pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Brunswick tightens his grip and picks Chonan up, before dumping him to the ground. Chonan manages to land in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chonan tries to land a sweep but no joy. Brunswick with a flurry of punches that miss. Brunswick with a flurry of punches that miss. Chonan seems keen to control Brunswick's posture. Chonan tries to land a sweep but no joy. Brunswick loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Brunswick looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Brunswick trying to control the position from guard on top but Chonan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brunswick is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Chonan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brunswick is one step ahead there. Brunswick trying to control but Chonan is working from the bottom. Chonan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Chonan blocks a head kick by Brunswick.
Chonan was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Brunswick throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Chonan counters with a straight right hand. Chonan lands a jab.
Milo Brunswick's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. A shot to the liver by Brunswick. Beautiful body shot. Chonan instigates a clinch. Brunswick takes an elbow to the forehead. Chonan taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Piranha Chonan dominated that round. The cut man is working on Milo Brunswick's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Chonan thows a left - swing and a miss! Milo Brunswick seems to be getting the better of the standup. Good shot there by Brunswick. Chonan is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Brunswick connects with a high kick. Chonan bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Brunswick's head. Chonan wants to clinch. Brunswick throws a half hearted mid kick. Brunswick darts in and clinches Chonan up against the cage. Come on Brunswick - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Brunswick is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chonan lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Chonan scores with a nice short uppercut. Brunswick is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Chonan on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chonan lands an elbow inside that Brunswick shrugs off.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Milo Brunswick's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
