The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ricahrdson moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

It looks like Vincent Burns has been cut. A combination from Burns does no damage. Burns closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ricahrdson's guard. Ricahrdson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Burns off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Burns closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ricahrdson quickly recovers to half guard. Ricahrdson has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Burns is on him like a limpet, forcing Ricahrdson back against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ricahrdson tries to pull guard but Burns holds him up against the cage and eventually Ricahrdson drops back down to his feet.

Ricahrdson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Burns up against the cage. Burns is trying to break free. Burns shoots in looking for a takedown but Ricahrdson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Burns's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Burns shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ricahrdson counters with a low kick, right behind Burns 's knee. Burns takes one to the side of the head.

so Burns counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Burns got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ricahrdson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Burns has managed to get both his arms back between Ricahrdson's legs - danger averted.
