The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Bam Bam shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Om napping and manages to drive through into side control! Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Om (0) vs (4) Bam Bam Bam Bam is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Om knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Om tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bam Bam wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Bam Bam working away. Bam Bam just content to control the position. Bam Bam wants to lay and pray for a moment but Om keeps working. Om manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Om trying to control from the bottom.
Bam Bam is keen to just control but Om is a slippery customer. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bam Bam wants to pass to mount but Om is defending the position. Bam Bam is trying to control the action in half guard but Om is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Om controlling the position for now. Om is looking for a sweep. Bam Bam is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bam Bam content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Bam Bam looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Bam Bam is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Bam Bam prevents Om from improving his position. Bam Bam seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Om does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Bam Bam looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Bam Bam tries to pass to full mount but Om defends it. Om tries to get to full guard but Bam Bam has control of the leg. Om looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Om makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Om. Bam Bam drops back looking for a leg! Om is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Om manages to kick Bam Bam off! Bam Bam jumps back into Om's guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Bam Bam trying to control but Om is working from the bottom. Om is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bam Bam is aware though and is defending well. Bam Bam controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Bam Bam trying to control the position from guard on top but Om is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bam Bam pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Om is keeping the position for now. Bam Bam pushes down on Om's leg and manages to get into half guard. No, Om has managed to free his arm - good work. Bam Bam is looking to take a break and control but Om is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Om is looking for a sweep. Bam Bam trying to mount his opponent but Om defends it. Om looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Bam Bam is looking to advance position but Om won't allow it. Om is looking to control Bam Bam's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Om avoid being mounted?
