The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Benjamin pushes Jones off and gets back to his feet.
Benjamin shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense.
Jon Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
As Jones looks to move away, Benjamin throws a big counter combo but Jones just gets out of the way.
Horrible takedown attempt by Benjamin or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones , which made it look bad.
Benjamin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Benjamin closes the distance and clinches up with Jones , looking for a takedown. Benjamin pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Benjamin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Jones dives in for a single leg takedown but Benjamin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Benjamin darts in trying to clinch
and Jones counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Benjamin is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Benjamin is rocked!
Jones goes for a small jab and connects. Now Jones goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Benjamin stumbles back but Jones runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Benjamin to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Benjamin will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
