PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yun Won Hyang (ranked 1365 p4p, 214 weight class) and Alejandro Scott (ranked 2541 p4p, 336 weight class). Scott has chosen Alejandro - Lady Gaga as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yun Won Hyang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alejandro Scott!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Alyssa Summers and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott avoids the body shot from Hyang.
Scott takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Hyang cracks Scott with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Good standup being displayed there by Scott as he connects with a hook.
Scott shoots in and drives through. Hyang sprawls well.
Scott takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Scott rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hyang moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Scott looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Scott swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Hyang moves into range and clinches up with Scott.
Scott prevents a body shot from Hyang.
Hyang lands an uppercut.
Scott prevents Hyang from breaking the clinch.

Hyang misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Hyang tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Scott's elbow.
Hyang wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Scott drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hyang gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Yun Won Hyang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alejandro Scott.
Hyang lands a shoulder strike.
Scott has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hyang avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Scott has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hyang avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Scott has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hyang after a bit of a struggle.

Hyang turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hyang manages to end up in side control.
Scott tries to improve position but can't.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Scott wants to control the position but Hyang says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Yun Won Hyang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Scott tries to roll over but Hyang keeps him under control.
Scott is trying to maintain the position but Hyang is very close to passing his half guard.
Scott wants to improve his position but Hyang is controlling well.
Scott has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hyang is working away from the top position though.

Scott is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Hyang jumps into side control!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hyang wants to stand but Scott has his arm trapped.

Scott is looking for a sweep. Hyang is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Scott wants to control but Hyang is keeping busy.
Still in half guard, Hyang seems content to control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Hyang has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
