PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between William Wallace (ranked 519 p4p, 63 weight class) and Alastair Dunn (ranked 684 p4p, 89 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Wallace!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alastair Dunn!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dunn lands a nice hook to Wallace's body. Wallace takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
We've been told by Wallace's head coaches at Rabid Dog that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Dunn throws an overhand right that lands on Wallace's shoulder, as Wallace tries to avoid the shot.
Dunn throws a big shot that misses.
Dunn throws out a loose jab but Wallace uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wallace slips a jab from Dunn.
Dunn throws out a powerful jab.
Sloppy strikes from Wallace. Those never looked like landing.
Dunn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Wallace loads up on a big right hand but Dunn slips the punch.
A big left from Wallace misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wallace throws a series of punches but Dunn moves out of range.
Wallace throws a hook to the side of Dunn's head but Dunn sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dunn throws a combination. Wallace tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wallace scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Wallace bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
As Dunn looks to move away, Wallace throws a big counter combo but Dunn just gets out of the way.
A swing and a miss from Wallace.
Dunn lands a jab to the head.
Dunn throws a jab when Wallace was well out of range.
Wallace keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dunn looks to land a right hand but Wallace moved out of range.
Wallace is looking to counter punch.
Wallace connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dunn. Dunn circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Wallace lands with a hook. Dunn tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Wallace avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wallace seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Dunn swinging wildly here.
Wallace is looking to counter punch.
Wallace pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dunn stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Dunn steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Wallace.
Dunn looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Wallace avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Alastair Dunn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dunn dives in and scores a takedown into Wallace's guard.
Wallace wants to sweep but no luck.
Wallace keeping moving, preventing Dunn from controlling successfully.
Dunn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wallace is keeping the position for now.
Wallace is trying to keep Dunn in close.
Dunn controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dunn tries to free his leg and advance position but Wallace is retaining full guard.
Dunn slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Wallace avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Dunn takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Wallace takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Wallace jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Dunn uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wallace.
A little jabbing left from Dunn on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Dunn pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Dunn lands with a right hand.
Dunn scores with the left hand. Wallace knows he should have avoided that one.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dunn misses with a takedown attempt - Wallace sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Wallace was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
William Wallace is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dunn doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Wallace keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Wallace is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


Dunn is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wallace misses with a hook. Dunn ducked under it nicely.
Dunn scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wallace in his tracks.
Wallace with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dunn to score with a decent uppercut.
A left and a right from Dunn both land. Nice combination.


Wallace is rocked!

Oooooh!!! Wallace has knocked Dunn down with a huge combo! Wallace steps away and waves a wobbly Dunn back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Dunn is still on wobbly legs! Can Wallace finish him?
Wallace drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Dunn right on the button. Dunn goes down! Wallace follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Wallace gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). William Wallace!
William Wallace is the new middleweight champion!
During a confident post fight interview, William Wallace thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
