PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Reginald Brooks (ranked 2279 p4p, 269 weight class) and Demetrius Tektas (ranked 1827 p4p, 216 weight class). Tektas comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Alexander The Great kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Tektas with that takedown attempt.
Brooks throws out a leg kick but Tektas moves out of range and Brooks only half commits.
Brooks just misses with a punch to the body.

Brooks has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Tektas has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Brooks's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Tektas connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Brooks scrambles back to his feet.

Brooks had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tektas defends it easily.

Brooks is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Tektas has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Tektas thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Brooks has his foot on Tektas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tektas works his way back into a safe position though.

Brooks is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tektas defends well.
Tektas is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well Tektas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
