And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Danny Solomon!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Solomon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Marks sprawls well initially but Solomon persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Marks wants to get back to full guard.

Marks decides to stand back up. Marks steps back and let's Solomon get back to his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Theodore Marks will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Solomon postures up in Marks's guard and throws a big left but Marks blocks it.
Solomon wants to get up but he can't break Marks's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Marks fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Solomon to the ground. Marks is now in Solomon's guard.

Marks lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Marks has clasped his hands together around Solomon's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Solomon is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Marks is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Solomon tries to hold on but Marks pushes him away.

Marks gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Marks shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Solomon scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Marks manages to mount him!

Solomon wants to hold on but Marks pushes him away.

Marks is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Solomon can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Marks takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Solomon tries to lock up and control but Marks gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Marks stands up from mount. Strange move.

Marks shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Marks was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Marks is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Solomon can do to turn this around?
Solomon wants to control but Marks postures up.
Danny Solomon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Theodore Marks is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Marks decides to stand back up. Marks steps back and let's Solomon get back to his feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Marks, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
