The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Neys darts in looking for a takedown but Smith gets double underhooks and turns De Neys into the cage.
It looked like Smith was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
De Neys closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smith to the mat! Smith manages to get full guard.
Smith controls De Neys momentarily but De Neys frees himself.
De Neys passes into half guard.
Smith wants to control but De Neys is keeping busy.

Smith has hold of De Neys's hands but De Neys slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
