Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kenshi Kimura (ranked 3550 p4p, 372 weight class) and Denzel Knives (ranked 3868 p4p, 390 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Knives's choice of entrance music: Remember The Name. Denzel Knives will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kenshi Kimura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Denzel Knives! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Kimura. Kimura shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Knives is trying to defend but Kimura finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Kimura has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Kimura content to control rather than advance. Kimura seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Knives for as long as he can get away with. Kimura continues to stall. Kimura prevents Knives from improving his position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kimura content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Knives looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Kimura is pressing down on Knives's thigh, looking to free his foot. Knives is holding on for now. Knives is looking to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kimura is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Knives tries to roll over but Kimura keeps him under control. Kimura is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Kimura wants to lay and pray for a moment but Knives keeps working. Knives really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kimura. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Knives desperately trying to maintain half guard. Kimura is pressing down on Knives's thigh, looking to free his foot. Knives is holding on for now. Kimura is trying to control the action in half guard but Knives is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Knives is holding on to half guard well. Kimura is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Knives has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kimura looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Kimura is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Knives is trying to get back to full guard. Knives is refusing to be controlled, as Kimura sits in half guard. Knives desperately trying to maintain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Knives trying to hold on to Kimura's head to control him but Kimura postures up.
Kimura wants to pass to mount but Knives is defending the position. Kimura uses his free foot to push down on Knives's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Knives. Kimura trying to control but he's not successful this time. Kimura jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Knives manages to avoid the submission attempt. Kimura looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Knives is trying to control Kimura's posture but Kimura avoids it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenshi Kimura dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

It seemed like Knives was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Knives tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kimura was well out of range. Poor timing from Knives. Knives stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Knives wants it to stay on the feet. Knives lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Kimura throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Knives misses with a wild body shot. Kimura is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Knives's half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Knives is looking for a sweep. Kimura is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Knives trying to control here.
Kimura is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Knives doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kimura. Knives is in trouble now - Kimura has advanced to mount!

Kimura has hold of Knives's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Knives manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Knives has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kimura is working away from the top position though. Kimura wants to take a breather but Knives is having none of it. Knives is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kimura's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kimura's back! Knives trying to control momentarily.
Kimura looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Knives keeps control of the position as Kimura tries to break free.

Kimura engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Knives keeping moving, preventing Kimura from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kimura drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kimura jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Knives trying to control the position here. Knives is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Kimura is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Knives is just riding it out for now. Kimura eventually gives up the hold. Kimura trying to control the action but Knives is working from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Knives is looking for a sweep. Kimura is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenshi Kimura dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Knives lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kimura circles away quickly and effectively. Kimura half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Knives cracks Kimura with an open hand slap. Kimura looks to land a left hand but Knives moved out of range nicely. Knives lands with a straight right. Kimura didn't see that one coming. Knives takes a swing at Kimura's ribcage but misses. A looping hook to the body misses from Knives. Kimura does a little dance to reset his feet. Knives misses with a wild body shot. Kimura avoids the body shot from Knives.
Kimura misses with an uppercut
and Knives makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Knives uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kimura. Knives is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Kimura rather than just go for the knockout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kimura takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Knives's corner calls for a 1-2. Knives obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Kimura misses the shot to the body. Knives dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. The crowd cheers as Knives lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kimura doesn't seem phased though. Knives fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kimura looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Kimura misses with a body shot.

Kimura trying to control but Knives is working from the bottom. Knives looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kimura is one step ahead there. Kimura is pushing down on Knives's leg trying to pass to half guard. Knives is fighting to maintain full guard but Kimura has managed to sneak the leg through. Knives is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kimura trying to control the action but Knives is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kimura is really struggling to control Knives but he's trying to hold on to the position. Knives tries to get to full guard but Kimura has control of the leg. Knives wants to control but Kimura is keeping busy and won't allow it. Kimura is looking for a kimura here.
Kimura performing his best blanket impression for a moment. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kimura is trying to control the action in half guard but Knives is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Kenshi Kimura overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Knives is looking for a sweep. Kimura is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Kimura frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kimura goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Knives turns into him and now he's in Kimura's guard.
Kimura is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that's the end of the fight! Denzel Knives comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Kimura has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
