Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Samson Wills (ranked 1018 p4p, 121 weight class) and Royler Gracie (ranked 2277 p4p, 255 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Gracie's choice of entrance music: Olha a Explosão. Royler Gracie acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wills staying out of range there.
Gracie misses with a hook to the body
and Wills counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gracie won't be happy with that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wills wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Wills tries to advance to mount but can't.
Gracie is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Gracie gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Gracie works his way to full guard. Good work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wills throws a big right hand that misses.
Wills working some strikes from top position.
Gracie has his foot on Wills's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wills works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie is looking for a triangle but Wills pushes his legs off easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Wills controlling from the top position.
Wills is looking to work some ground and pound but Gracie has wrist control.
Gracie looking for a sweep. Not yet Gracie, not yet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wills accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Wills has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Gracie looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Wills looking to sit in guard and control but Gracie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Wills is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Wills is working hard here to advance position.
Gracie has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Yaw-Yan Ardigma. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Gracie is looking to advance position but Wills has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Wills with shots to the head and body - Gracie looks very uncomfortable down there.
Gracie is wriggling around trying to escape.
Wills raining down hammerfists from mount.
Gracie is trying desperately to improve position.
Wills pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Wills knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wills lands a heavy elbow.
Wills lands a couple of good shots and Gracie has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Gracie is rocked!
Wills throwing damaging strikes from the back! Gracie could be in trouble here!
Gracie is still in real trouble! Can Wills finish him?
I really don't envy Gracie right now.
Gracie is trapped and Wills is scoring with shots to the head and body.

Wills lands strikes from the back and Gracie isn't doing enough to escape the position. The referee steps in to end the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Samson Wills!
Samson Wills decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
