Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blaine Salazar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Frank! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frank fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Salazar, pushing him back against the cage. Frank breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Frank manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Salazar on his heels. He'll look to pass Salazar's guard now, I'm sure. Frank trying to control but Salazar is working from the bottom. Salazar is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Frank is aware though and is defending well. Frank trying to control the position from guard on top but Salazar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Salazar has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Frank has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Frank has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Salazar is trying to keep an underhook but Frank manages to get the takedown into half guard. Salazar pushes Frank off and gets back to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Frank lands a jab-cross combination.
Salazar is rocked!
It looks like Blaine Salazar has been cut. Frank closes the distance looking for a takedown. Salazar stuffs it but Frank still has hold of him. Frank picks Salazar up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Frank slams Salazar to the floor and that's really hurt Salazar - he doesn't know where he is! Frank throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
