Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Julius Guida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Simons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Simons's choice of entrance music: Turnt Up. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julius Guida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henry Simons!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guida uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Simons.
Simons throws a right and a left that Guida avoids nicely.
A head kick from Guida lands but Simons takes it in his stride.

Guida gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Guida tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Simons just stands there and leans against the cage.
Simons stops a takedown attempt from Guida.

Simons breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Simons feints and then cracks Guida's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Guida down.

Simons moves into the clinch.

Simons's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Guida tries to clinch up but Simons circles away and keeps his distance.
Simons on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Guida throws a series of punches but Simons avoids them all with ease.

and Simons counters by clinching up.
Guida jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Simons walks away with a smile on his face. Guida gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julius Guida. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Guida throws a sloppy head kick and Simons moves out of range easily.
Guida changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Simons looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Guida works Simons's body with a nice hook.

Guida moves into the clinch.

Guida decides to pull guard.

Guida tries to land a sweep but no joy.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Guida is on top in guard.

Guida distracts Simons with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Simons keeping moving, preventing Guida from controlling successfully.
Guida throws a big right hand that misses.
Simons avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Guida stands up and waves to Simons to follow him.
Guida stalks Simons and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Simons's face. Simons staggers backwards, shaken.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Simons takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Simons is rocked!
Simons takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Guida drops Simons with a left and a right! Oh, Simons is hurt - Guida dives into side control looking to finish!
Simons is still in real trouble! Can Guida finish him?

Guida is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Simons has escaped the position, nice work there.

Guida has hold of Simons's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Simons seems comfortable defending it but Guida has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Simons is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Simons is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Guida couldn't care less - he's delighted!
