The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Santos bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Tokarev sneaks back into half guard.
Santos moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Tokarev.
Santos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tokarev keeps working.
Tokarev manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Tokarev is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Santos is trying to stand up here but Tokarev is controlling him well.

Tokarev postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Santos to stand up.
Santos shoots in for a takedown but Tokarev shows good takedown defense.

Santos will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Santos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Tokarev gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Tokarev shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Santos gets back to half guard.

Tokarev is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Santos wants to control but Tokarev is keeping busy.

Tokarev lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Tokarev is taking a breather. Santos says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tokarev wants to work for an arm triangle but Santos is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Tokarev takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
