Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Duggan (ranked 4384 p4p, 0 weight class) and War Dawg (ranked 2986 p4p, 0 weight class). Duggan comes to the cage accompanied by Five Finger Death Punch- Bad Company . Dawg has chosen Raise hell- hed pe as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Duggan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, War Dawg!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duggan throws a lazy uppercut
letting Dawg counter with a right hand.
A punch lands to the side of Dawg 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Duggan scores with a sloppy right hand. Dawg should have avoided that one.
Dawg lands with a cross.


It looks like Jim Duggan has been cut.
Dawg thumps Duggan with a low kick.
A head kick from Dawg lands but Duggan takes it in his stride.

Donk. Dawg catches Duggan right on the button with a cross.
Dawg misses with a straight right.
Dawg is looking to chop away at Duggan's legs.
Dawg lands a nice hook to Duggan's body. Duggan takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dawg pivots, looking for a leg kick but Duggan is out of range and Dawg settles back down.

Duggan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dawg tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Duggan is in Dawg's guard.
Dawg is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Duggan dives into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Duggan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dawg can do anything to dispel that myth.
Duggan creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dawg sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Duggan throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Dawg works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Dawg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Duggan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Duggan is taking a breather. Dawg says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Dawg fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Duggan manages to avoid it.

Duggan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dawg napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Duggan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Dawg is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Jim Duggan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Duggan has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Dawg.

Duggan is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Duggan gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Duggan gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Duggan apologises and we restart here on the feet.
War Dawg is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Dawg turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Dawg tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Dawg looks to land a left hand but Duggan moved out of range nicely.

Dawg throws a looping overhand right but Duggan ducks down to avoid it.

Duggan closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dawg's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dawg shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Duggan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dawg manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Dawg is looking to stand back up but Duggan counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Dawg.

Duggan winds up and cracks Dawg with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Duggan landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Dawg pushes Duggan off looking to stand but Duggan dives back in and keeps control.
Duggan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Duggan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Duggan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Duggan uses his free foot to push down on Dawg's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dawg.

Dawg takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Duggan is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Duggan fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Duggan softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Dawg is out cold! Duggan jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jim Duggan!
An out of breath Jim Duggan thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
