Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Judas Priest! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy McLarnin! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Priest throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
so McLarnin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. McLarnin trying to control the position from guard on top but Priest is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Priest has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. McLarnin is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Priest. McLarnin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Priest keeps working. Priest parries the strikes from McLarnin easily there. McLarnin is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Priest to escape.
McLarnin has knee on belly and moves into mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Priest gets back to half guard. McLarnin trying to mount his opponent but Priest defends it. Priest tries to roll over but McLarnin keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. McLarnin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Priest looking for submissions off his back. McLarnin trying to control the action but Priest is working from the bottom. Priest has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McLarnin is working away from the top position though. Priest is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McLarnin pulls his head out easily. Priest is staying active underneath McLarnin, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Priest is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at The Coffee Shop, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. McLarnin is controlling the pace.

McLarnin wants to control but Priest is keeping him busy. Priest looking for submissions off his back. McLarnin trying to mount his opponent but Priest defends it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Priest striking from half guard on the bottom. McLarnin trying to control the action but Priest is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Priest swings widly with a right hand
and McLarnin counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Judas Priest has been cut. Priest cracks McLarnin with a good jab. Priest throws a jab but it's blocked by McLarnin. Priest misses with a body shot
letting McLarnin counter with a right hand. McLarnin shoots for a takedown but Priest saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Priest appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Left hook, right uppercut from Priest. Priest throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McLarnin sees it coming and avoids it easily. Priest throws a hook but McLarnin blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Priest shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches McLarnin napping and manages to drive through into side control! McLarnin explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! This has been an exciting period of action! Priest missing with a left hand there. McLarnin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. McLarnin throws a counter combo. McLarnin shoots in for a takedown but Priest shows good takedown defense. A big left from Priest misses. McLarnin goes for a double leg but Priest avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Priest continues to drive forward. Judas Priest has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy McLarnin. Priest misses with a looping left. McLarnin doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Priest misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McLarnin.

and McLarnin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by McLarnin. Priest lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Priest throws a head punch that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy McLarnin dominated that round. The cut man is working on Judas Priest's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
McLarnin takes a swing at Priest's ribcage but misses. McLarnin tries to clinch but Priest is having none of it. Judas Priest seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McLarnin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Priest. Priest misses with a leg kick. Priest scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Priest ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Priest swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
McLarnin gets cracked there but stands up to it.

and McLarnin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Priest thinking. Priest throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and McLarnin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Priest throws a hook to the side of McLarnin's head but McLarnin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A looping hook to the body misses from Priest. McLarnin does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. McLarnin moves out of range of the leg kick from Priest. And McLarnin tries to counter it with a takedown but Priest pushes his down on his head and steps out. Priest throws out a loose jab but McLarnin uses good head movement to avoid it. McLarnin throws a hook but Priest avoids it easily. Priest missing with a left hand there. McLarnin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Priest throws an off balance right hand
and Priest takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. McLarnin wants to slow Priest down by chopping away at his legs. Priest throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. McLarnin steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Priest rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and McLarnin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Priest thinking. Nice defenses there by McLarnin. McLarnin fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. A slow jab from Priest misses its intended target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McLarnin dives in and grabs Priest's left leg, looking for a takedown. Priest pushes down on McLarnin's head and hops out. A telegraphed right hand from Priest misses the target. Priest swats away the attempt to clinch by McLarnin. McLarnin shoots for a double leg takedown but Priest sprawls well. He's pushed McLarnin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Priest fails with a takedown attempt. Priest shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Priest showed some decent athleticism there. McLarnin manages to escape and get back to his feet!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Priest bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of McLarnin's head. Nice takedown defense from Priest. No joy for McLarnin on that attempt. Priest half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Judas Priest has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy McLarnin. Priest shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Priest showed some decent athleticism there. McLarnin is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. McLarnin wants to get back to his feet. Priest is looking to stall here but McLarnin recovers full guard. McLarnin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jimmy McLarnin has got the better of the ground game so far. Priest trying to control the position from guard on top but McLarnin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Priest is sitting in close to McLarnin's body. McLarnin has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Priest is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Priest is tapping! That was a very nice submission by McLarnin.
