Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gignac takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Gignac fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Volkov, pushing him back against the cage.
Volkov blocks an elbow strike.
With the fighters up against the cage, Gignac throws an elbow but misses.

Volkov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Volkov misses with a two punch combination.
Gignac takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Volkov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gignac.
Gignac tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Volkov paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Jules Gignac seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gignac tries to clinch but Volkov is having none of it.

Volkov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Volkov connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Gignac doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Gignac looks winded!
Volkov throws a good cross that connects.
Volkov lands a nice looking body shot.
Volkov drops Gignac with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Gignac looks back up at him and smiles so Volkov waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Gignac is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Volkov cracks Gignac with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). William Volkov!
