Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Berry Hampton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bat Drew ! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drew tries for a takedown but Hampton sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Drew fails with an attempt to clinch.
As Drew looks to move away, Hampton throws a big counter combo but Drew just gets out of the way. Hampton leaves Drew with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hampton is looking to counter the offense by Drew and move into the clinch. Hampton throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hampton tries to close the distance and clinch but Drew swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Drew is looking to clinch. Hampton tries a head kick but it misses.
Despite the aggression on Drew 's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Hampton throws a predictable looking body shot
and Drew holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Drew is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Hampton jumps into guard, dragging Drew to the mat.
Hampton working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Drew . Drew throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hampton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hampton can't keep his opponent in guard - Drew advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Hampton moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Hampton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Drew defends it easily. Drew content to stall in guard here. Drew must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hampton wants to sweep here but Drew controlling him for the moment. Hampton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Drew throws a big elbow that misses. Hampton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Drew can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hampton has his foot on Drew 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Drew works his way back into a safe position though. Drew missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hampton trying to control the position here. Drew loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Drew stands up from guard. Let's bang! Hampton lands a head kick. Drew smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Drew fails with a takedown attempt. Berry Hampton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bat Drew .

Drew dives in for a single leg takedown but Hampton sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Drew looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Drew blocks a head kick by Hampton.
Drew keeps the fight on the outside. Drew avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hampton is breathing heavily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Drew .
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hampton takes the fight into the clinch. Hampton fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Hampton looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Drew tries to free his leg and advance position but Hampton is retaining full guard. Drew advances to half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Drew wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hampton keeps working. Drew stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Hampton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Drew is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Hampton presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Berry Hampton dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Berry Hampton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Drew has managed to clinch.
Drew tries to land knees in the clinch but Hampton avoids the damage to the body. Drew 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Hampton avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hampton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Drew fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Drew misses with a double jab.

Hampton moves in looking to clinch but Drew pushes him off. Drew throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Drew shoots in for a takedown but Hampton shows good takedown defense. A quick step to the side and Hampton tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Berry Hampton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bat Drew . Drew shoots in looking for a takedown but Hampton manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Drew 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Drew is breathing heavily. Hampton fails with an attempt to clinch.

Hampton displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Drew . Hampton throws a counter high kick but Drew was just alert enough to avoid it. Hampton clinches with his opponent.

A nice side step and Drew releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Drew wants to clinch. It looked like Hampton was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Drew . A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Drew . Hampton slaps away a takedown attempt from Drew , before circling back to the center of the mat. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Drew fails to land the takedown. As Drew looks to move away, Hampton throws a big counter combo but Drew just gets out of the way. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Berry Hampton dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Drew takes a swing at Hampton's ribcage but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Drew or perhaps it was just good defense by Hampton, which made it look bad. Hampton was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Drew fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hampton avoids it really well and circles away. Drew tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hampton manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Hampton tries to clinch but Drew is having none of it. Hampton moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromDrew . Hampton pushes Drew up against the cage in a clinch. Hampton struggles to land a body shot inside as Drew controls his hands.
A bit of stalling here from Hampton.
Hampton has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Drew uses from the top position. Hampton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Drew doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Drew manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hampton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Drew can do to turn this around?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hampton looking for a guillotine here but Drew defends easily.

Drew controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hampton utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hampton has his foot on Drew 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Drew works his way back into a safe position though. Drew drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Drew jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Drew has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hampton is proving hard to escape from. Hampton looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Drew has picked Hampton up and slammed him! Hampton can't keep hold of the triangle and Drew manages to pass to side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hampton tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Drew wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Hampton sneaks back into half guard. Drew is keen to just control but Hampton is a slippery customer. Hampton is trying to stand.
Drew wants to control but Hampton is keeping him busy. Hampton flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Hampton landing a few short strikes. Drew prevents Hampton from improving his position. Hampton is controlling Drew 's trapped leg to prevent Drew from advancing to side control.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Drew dives in for a single leg takedown but Hampton sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Bat Drew has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Berry Hampton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Drew shoots in for a takedown but Hampton shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Berry Hampton showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hampton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
