PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Justin Midget (ranked 1820 p4p, 214 weight class) and Lou Nahtic (ranked 3953 p4p, 399 weight class). Nahtic has chosen Sleeping My Day Away as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Midget!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 35 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lou Nahtic!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Nahtic misses.
Midget with a lazy takedown attempt
and Midget takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Midget avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Midget drops down looking for a counter takedown but Nahtic sprawls and moves away.
Nahtic cracks Midget with an open hand slap.
Nahtic lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Midget backs up against the cage.
Nahtic looks to land a combination. Midget sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Nahtic is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Midget closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Midget tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Midget has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Midget goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Nahtic has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Midget but great work by Nahtic.

Midget is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Nahtic's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Nahtic looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Nahtic wants to pass the guard but Midget is defending well.

Midget is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Midnight MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Midget is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nahtic pulls his head out easily.

Nahtic is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Midget has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Nahtic is looking to defend but Midget has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Nahtic! Midget pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Nahtic taps out and this one is all over!
