Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Torkel Bystrom (ranked 6324 p4p, 474 weight class) and Toturi Akodo (ranked 5772 p4p, 461 weight class). Akodo has chosen Skip Marley - Lions as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Toturi Akodo enters the cage!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Francis DeMontford and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bystrom catches Akodo with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Bystrom staying out of range there.
Bystrom is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Akodo.
Bystrom has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Tycoon Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Akodo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
It looks like Toturi Akodo has been cut.
Akodo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bystrom throws out the jab.

Bystrom thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bystrom drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Akodo wants to stand up but Bystrom is controlling him.
Bystrom throws a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bystrom lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Bystrom drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Akodo manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bystrom has Akodo in his guard.

Bystrom working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Akodo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Akodo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bystrom has his foot on Akodo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Akodo works his way back into a safe position though.

Bystrom has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bystrom is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Akodo pulls his head out easily.

Akodo decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Akodo misses with a low kick.

and Akodo counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Akodo works the jab nicely.
Bystrom pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Akodo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bystrom swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Akodo lands with an overhand left.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Akodo takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Akodo jabs Bystrom right on the nose. Bystrom blinks but takes it well.
A telegraphed right hand from Akodo misses the target.

Bystrom keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Akodo thuds a left hand into Bystrom's body.
Bystrom looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Akodo takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Akodo pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Bystrom lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Akodo fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Bystrom to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Bystrom looks to clinch but Akodo throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Bystrom taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Toturi Akodo decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
