Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Leo Kovarov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sanka Coffie!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovarov cracks Coffie with a good jab.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Coffie prevents Kovarov from breaking the clinch.
Kovarov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Coffie walks away with a smile on his face. Kovarov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Coffie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kovarov.
Coffie lands a nice looking body shot.
Kovarov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Coffie misses with an uppercut. Kovarov saw that one coming.
Coffie moves out of range of the strikes.
Coffie just misses with a punch to the body.
Kovarov swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kovarov takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Coffie moves into the clinch successfully.

Coffie's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Coffie has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kovarov finds it's way round the side to connect with Coffie's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Coffie clinches up against the cage.
Kovarov blocks an uppercut.
A head punch on the inside from Coffie fails to land.
Coffie lands with a right to the head.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Kovarov.
Coffie lands with a light punch inside.

Kovarov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kovarov lands with a nice body punch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kovarov.
Coffie missing with a left hand there. Kovarov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Coffie gets a clinch.
Coffie keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kovarov's efforts to push away.
Kovarov tries to break the clinch but Coffie is controlling the position.
Kovarov tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Coffie just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leo Kovarov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kovarov is trying to break the clinch but Coffie is controlling him.
Coffie working aggressively here.

Kovarov manages to pull guard.
Coffie looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Coffie controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kovarov looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Coffie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Coffie's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kovarov looking for a triangle here. Coffie is fighting it but it looks tight! Kovarov pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Coffie is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Leo Kovarov!
