Kokinume slaps away a takedown attempt from Ware, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Ware counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Kokinume!
Ware content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Ware is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kokinume is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Ware is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kokinume knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kokinume tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ware wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The strikes coming from Ware are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Ware goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kokinume has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Ware but great work by Kokinume.
Ware explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Ware gets caught napping as Kokinume dives in and scores a takedown. Ware manages to retain guard.
Ware is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
