0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Rabbitte! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A shot to the liver by May. Beautiful body shot. May fails with an attempt to clinch.
Horrible takedown attempt by Rabbitte or perhaps it was just good defense by May, which made it look bad. Rabbitte missing with a left hand there. May was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. May swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. May takes the fight into the clinch. May blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Rabbitte prevents May from breaking the clinch. Rabbitte decides to pull guard. Rabbitte seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. May throws an elbow that misses. Rabbitte uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in May's guard. Nice move by Rabbitte!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rabbitte trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rabbitte with a nice head shot there. Rabbitte tries to stand but May is controlling from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rabbitte trying to control but May is working from the bottom. Rabbitte lands a couple of digs. Rabbitte passes easily into side control. Nice work. Rabbitte working the ground and pound. Rabbitte trying to control the position but May is working away. May is trying to control Rabbitte's posture but Rabbitte avoids it. Rabbitte looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. May taking a bit of punishment here - Rabbitte scoring with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rabbitte stands up and we're back to a striking position. May looks to clinch and Rabbitte counters with a lovely shot to the body. May lands a lovely overhand right.
It looks like Paul Rabbitte has been cut. An inside leg kick from Rabbitte misses. May moves in looking to clinch but Rabbitte pushes him off. Rabbitte fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but May avoids it really well and circles away. May tests Rabbitte's chin there with a solid looking shot. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rabbitte tries for a takedown but May sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Woodford May has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Rabbitte. Rabbitte circles away from the clinch attempt.
May tries to close the distance and clinch but Rabbitte swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. May tries to clinch but Rabbitte moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rabbitte doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. May blocks a head kick by Rabbitte.
May scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rabbitte doesn't seem bothered though. Rabbitte looks winded! Rabbitte tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Paul Rabbitte seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rabbitte throws a sloppy head kick and May makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Rabbitte swats away the attempt to clinch by May. May avoids a lazy jab quite easily. May fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rabbitte, pushing him back against the cage. May has had enough of the clinch but Rabbitte keeps him there for the moment. A frustrated look appears on May's face as he tries to break the clinch. May tries to circle away but Rabbitte has him pinned against the cage. May is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Rabbitte is defending well for now. Rabbitte lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of May backwards. A quick uppercut on the inside from Rabbitte. A head punch blocked on the inside by May. Rabbitte's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Rabbitte throws a head punch that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. May is trying to break the clinch but Rabbitte has him pressed against the cage. Rabbitte throws a head punch that misses. May wants to break free but Rabbitte has control.
May avoiding damage as Rabbitte throws knees to the body.
May has had enough of the clinch but Rabbitte keeps him there for the moment. Rabbitte tries to work over May's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rabbitte is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. May blocking some punches.

Rabbitte throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Mays head. Rabbitte keeps the fight in the clinch, despite May's efforts to push away. Rabbitte throws a punch but it's blocked by May. Rabbitte is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Rabbitte swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Woodford May has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Rabbitte. Rabbitte looks for a takedown but May sprawls well. No luck with that takedown attempt from Rabbitte. May lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. May is looking to clinch but Rabbitte is avoiding it.

May drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rabbitte manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now May has Rabbitte in his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rabbitte with a nice head shot there. Rabbitte chips away with some ground and pound. Rabbitte lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Rabbitte's corner is telling him to maintain position. Rabbitte passes May's left leg - he's now in half guard. Rabbitte working over May with some ground and pound. May looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Rabbitte working the head and body with strikes.
May is rocked! Rabbitte is nestled in close to May, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Oh May is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Rabbitte scores with a big shot! May's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save May! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
