Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Vazzappo!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vazzappo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sakamoto was well out of range. Poor timing from Vazzappo.

Sakamoto fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Vazzappo's corner calls for a 1-2. Vazzappo obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Sakamoto shoots in for a takedown but Vazzappo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Sakamoto fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takuya Sakamoto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sakamoto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Vazzappo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sakamoto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sakamoto drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vazzappo manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sakamoto has Vazzappo in his guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vazzappo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Vazzappo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sakamoto's head.
Vazzappo postures up in Sakamoto's guard and throws a big left but Sakamoto blocks it.
We've been hearing good reports from Sakamoto's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Vazzappo wants to stand but Sakamoto is controlling his posture from full guard.
Vazzappo is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Sakamoto has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Vazzappo is looking to defend but Sakamoto has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Vazzappo! Sakamoto pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Vazzappo taps out and this one is all over!

A relieved looking Takuya Sakamoto thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
