Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tim Shaw (ranked 5209 p4p, 128 weight class) and Gabriel Karibu (ranked 3298 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tim Shaw! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gabriel Karibu! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaw drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shaw thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Karibu prevents Shaw from moving into mount. Shaw throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Shaw sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Karibu is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shaw trying to control the position but Karibu is working away. Shaw swings around for an armbar but Karibu sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Shaw's guard. Karibu trying to control but Shaw is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karibu stops Shaw from standing up. Karibu trying to control but Shaw is working from the bottom. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Shaw holds on and takes a little breather. Karibu looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Shaw has his hands on Karibu's head, controlling the position. Karibu missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Karibu loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Shaw!
Shaw slaps away a takedown attempt from Karibu, before circling back to the center of the mat. Shaw seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Shaw.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A slow jab from Karibu misses its intended target. As Karibu looks to move away, Shaw throws a big counter combo but Karibu just gets out of the way. Nice takedown defense from Karibu. No joy for Shaw on that attempt. Shaw lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Shaw has Karibu up against the cage in a clinch.
Shaw is defending well against a takedown attempt. Karibu looks winded! Shaw wants to break the clinch but can't.
Shaw is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Shaw. That's going to take a lot out of him. Karibu takes a shot to the head. Shaw lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Karibu backwards. Karibu tries to pull guard but Shaw holds him up against the cage and eventually Karibu drops back down to his feet.

Shaw has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Karibu gets underhooks to prevent Shaw's takedown attempt.
Karibu is trying to pull guard but Shaw turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Shaw lands with a short head shot on the inside. Shaw stalls. Shaw lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Karibu. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A short right hand to the side of the head by Shaw. Karibu stops a takedown attempt from Shaw.
Karibu wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Karibu gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Shaw.
Shaw manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tim Shaw dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Karibu keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Shaw tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Karibu defends well and Shaw ends up having to push Karibu into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Shaw closes the distance and clinches. Shaw content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Shaw tries to score a body lock takedown but Karibu shows good agility there to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Shaw. That's going to take a lot out of him. Karibu is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Shaw blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Karibu has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Shaw throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Karibus head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shaw has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Karibu avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Shaw goes for a takedown in the clinch but Karibu prevents it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Shaw tries to break the clinch but Karibu is controlling the position. Shaw wants to get back to striking at distance but Karibu won't allow it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Shaw seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Karibu is pushing down on Shaw's leg trying to pass to half guard. Shaw is fighting to maintain full guard but Karibu has managed to sneak the leg through. Karibu wants to take a breather but Shaw is having none of it. Shaw could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Shaw tries to roll over but Karibu keeps him under control. Karibu is keen to just control but Shaw is a slippery customer. Shaw taking some punishment here, with Karibu in his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karibu wants to work for an arm triangle but Shaw is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Shaw tries to get to full guard but Karibu has control of the leg. Karibu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shaw does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Shaw on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shaw tries to get out of the position. Karibu is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Shaw is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karibu fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Shaw is squirming around, avoiding Karibu's attempts to control the action. Shaw tries to hold on but Karibu pushes him away. Shaw avoids a series of strikes thrown by Karibu.
Shaw wants to try and get back to his feet. Karibu landing strikes from the mount. Karibu prevents Shaw from getting the reversal. Karibu throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Shaw knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Karibu on the ground. Karibu scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Shaw?

Gabriel Karibu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Shaw moves into the clinch. Shaw wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Karibu has him pressed against the cage. Karibu ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Karibu no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Shaw has gone for a leg lock! Karibu slips out almost immediately though and dives into Shaw's guard. Karibu loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Shaw wants to hit a switch here but Karibu passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Shaw there! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Karibu is working for a guillotine from mount but Shaw frees his head quite easily.
Karibu takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karibu misses with a head shot. Karibu trying to control but Shaw is having none of it. Karibu manages to capitalize on a mistake by Shaw to take his back!

Karibu has the hooks in. Shaw is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Karibu looking for the choke but no joy. Karibu tries to keep control of the position but Shaw is staying busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Shaw is really stuck here.

I really don't envy Shaw right now.
Shaw is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shaw is in bad spot here.
And that's the end of the fight! Gabriel Karibu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Karibu has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
