Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Aaron Hoyle (ranked 4140 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Theron (ranked 14008 p4p, 0 weight class). Charlie Theron acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Theron looks for a takedown but Hoyle sprawls well. Theron fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hoyle sprawls well initially but Theron persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Hoyle (0) vs (2) Theron Hoyle is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hoyle is trying is best to control the position here. Hoyle has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Theron is working away from the top position though. Hoyle is looking to improve his position.
Hoyle's coaches at The Foundry have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Theron is trying to control the action in half guard but Hoyle is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Theron trying to pass the guard but Hoyle defending well. Hoyle is staying active underneath Theron, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Theron wants to free his trapped foot but Hoyle is holding on for dear life with his legs. Hoyle desperately trying to maintain half guard. Theron trying to control the action but Hoyle is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Theron tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hoyle knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Theron is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Hoyle looking for submissions off his back. Hoyle is not content to let Theron control the position. Theron prevents Hoyle from improving his position. Theron has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Hoyle defend it? Theron steps over the head and cranks it - Hoyle is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Theron!
