Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Royler Gracie (ranked 2577 p4p, 289 weight class) and Aarni Immonen (ranked 3270 p4p, 359 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by Olha a Explosão. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Royler Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Aarni Immonen! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Immonen misses the jab. Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Immonen circles away. Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Immonen. Gracie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Immonen moves away. Gracie throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Immonen sees it coming and avoids it easily. Immonen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Immonen is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Immonen circles away and we're back to standing. Immonen throws a hook but Gracie blocks it. Gracie is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Gracie looks to land a right hand but Immonen moved out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie connects with a nice looking jab.
Immonen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. No luck with that takedown attempt from Immonen. Immonen has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Royler Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aarni Immonen. Immonen misses with a hook. Gracie drops down looking for a counter takedown but Immonen sprawls and moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Immonen throws a right hand that misses
and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Gracie passes the guard and advances to mount! Gracie has hold of Immonen's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Immonen manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Immonen wants to hold on but Gracie pushes him away. Immonen can't escape the position.

Gracie is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Immonen has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie working for a guillotine from mount but Immonen is in no mood to give up. Gracie looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Immonen is trying desperately to improve position. Immonen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Immonen manages to regain half guard. Good work. Immonen looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Immonen tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Gracie has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Gracie avoids the attempt from Immonen to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Immonen tries to control the position but Gracie now has his back.
Immonen is trying to defend against the choke here but Gracie has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Gracie Tightens the hold and Immonen taps out furiously! Gracie displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Royler Gracie! During a confident post fight interview, Royler Gracie thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
