Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gerardo Abellan (ranked 7271 p4p, 515 weight class) and Will Star (ranked 6633 p4p, 499 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gerardo Abellan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Will Star!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abellan lands a nice shot to the body.

Abellan drives through and clinches with Star against the cage.

Star closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Abellan takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Star takes one on the chin but seems OK.

and Abellan scores with a counter punch that sends Star to the canvas! Abellan smells blood - he's punishing Star with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Star has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

In his post fight interview, Gerardo Abellan started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
