Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Teodors Ozolinsh (ranked 458 p4p, 48 weight class) and Dieter Schmidt (ranked 413 p4p, 43 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Teodors Ozolinsh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
26 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dieter Schmidt! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schmidt lands with a good body shot. Schmidt throws a nice outside leg kick. Schmidt throws a jab but it's blocked by Ozolinsh. Schmidt moves out of range as Ozolinsh strikes. Ozolinsh blocks the body kick.
Ozolinsh works Schmidt's body with a nice hook. Schmidt connects with a body shot that sends Ozolinsh's belly button to the back. Ozolinsh misses the shot to the body. Ozolinsh blocks a jab. Schmidt lands a jab. Schmidt throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Dieter Schmidt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schmidt throws a wild body kick that Ozolinsh sees coming a mile off. Ozolinsh fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Schmidt. Schmidt throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Ozolinsh feinted there with a counter leg kick. Ozolinsh lands an overhand right.
It looks like Dieter Schmidt has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Schmidt lands with a thumping leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. A slapping body kick lands there for Schmidt. Ozolinsh slips a jab and a cross from Schmidt.
Ozolinsh swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Schmidt wants to slow Ozolinsh down by chopping away at his legs. Ozolinsh listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. A low kick from Schmidt is predictable there and Ozolinsh counters with a straight right hand. Schmidt misses with a body kick. Ozolinsh moves out of range of the body kick. A counter left hand to the body from Ozolinsh misses its target. Schmidt connects with an inside leg kick. Ozolinsh blocks a head kick by Schmidt.
A little feinted left hand from Ozolinsh on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Ozolinsh looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. A slapping leg kick lands for Ozolinsh.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ozolinsh. Schmidt does a little dance to reset his feet. Schmidt throws a big counter head kick but Ozolinsh avoids it with no problem. Schmidt throws a leg kick but Ozolinsh sees it coming and moves out of range. Schmidt tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ozolinsh defends well and Schmidt ends up having to push Ozolinsh into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. This has been an exciting period of action! Schmidt buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Ozolinsh has been working on his boxing with his coaches at IMMA Gym of Elite ASS in the buildup to the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ozolinsh lands with a hook. Schmidt tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Schmidt takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Ozolinsh has taken the fight to the clinch.

Ozolinsh stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Ozolinsh pushes Schmidt away with a front kick. A lazy left from Schmidt finds it's target. Ozolinsh tries to clinch up. Ozolinsh drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Schmidt swings for the body but Ozolinsh moves out of range.
It looked like Ozolinsh wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Schmidt misses with a lunging right hand
and Ozolinsh counters with a left to the body. Ozolinsh takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ozolinsh comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Ozolinsh throws a big shot that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ozolinsh pivots, looking for a leg kick but Schmidt is out of range and Ozolinsh settles back down. Schmidt looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Schmidt throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Schmidt does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Schmidt fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Ozolinsh is out of range. Schmidt scores with a nice body kick.
Ozolinsh works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
That has opened up Dieter Schmidt's cut even more. Ozolinsh drops Schmidt with a huge uppercut! Schmidt drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Ozolinsh is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Teodors Ozolinsh! An out of breath and clearly excited Teodors Ozolinsh thanked Reaper Combatwear for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
