Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rory Robbins (ranked 7750 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daisy McLaughlin (ranked 6272 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rory Robbins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daisy McLaughlin!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLaughlin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McLaughlin lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
McLaughlin shoots in for a takedown but Robbins shows good takedown defense.
McLaughlin scores with a push kick.

McLaughlin clinches up against the cage.
McLaughlin has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Robbins after a bit of a struggle.

McLaughlin jumps guard and drags Robbins to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
McLaughlin is pulling down on Robbins's head to control his posture.
Robbins seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Robbins has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
McLaughlin looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
McLaughlin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Robbins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from McLaughlin, right into the meat.
Robbins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

It looks like Rory Robbins has been cut.
McLaughlin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Robbins avoids it really well and circles away.
Rory Robbins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daisy McLaughlin.
McLaughlin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

McLaughlin drives through and clinches with Robbins against the cage.

McLaughlin manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Robbins jumps guard but McLaughlin turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Robbins wants to control from the top but McLaughlin keeps moving.

McLaughlin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
McLaughlin is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

McLaughlin is trying to drag Robbins to the mat but Robbins just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

McLaughlin is stalling here. Robbins is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! McLaughlin seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Robbins has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

McLaughlin clinches.
McLaughlin scores with a shoulder strike.
McLaughlin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Robbins walks away with a smile on his face. McLaughlin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Robbins looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McLaughlin is fending him off so far but Robbins persists. Nope, McLaughlin circles away and we're back to standing.

and Robbins counters with a stiff right hand.
McLaughlin shoots in for a takedown but Robbins shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Robbins defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McLaughlin.
A little feinted left hand from Robbins on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McLaughlin can do anything to dispel that myth.
Robbins prevents McLaughlin from getting the reversal.
McLaughlin tries to lock up and control but Robbins gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Robbins tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
McLaughlin throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Robbins's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
McLaughlin is in all sorts of trouble here.
Robbins has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of McLaughlin's face.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Robbins takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Robbins lands with some vicious ground and pound - can McLaughlin hang on?
