Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eli Samuel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Samuel kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bring The Goons Out. Hawkins has chosen Cockney Rejects - I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles as his entrance music. Joe Hawkins looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eli Samuel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Hawkins! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Samuel throws a low kick but Hawkins avoids it. Samuel lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Samuel swings for the body but Hawkins moves out of range.
Samuel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hawkins circles away quickly and effectively. Hawkins tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Samuel swivels and escapes. Samuel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hawkins shoots in for a takedown but Samuel shows good takedown defense. Samuel punishes Hawkins's body with a nice straight punch. Hawkins looks gassed! Samuel throws a right hand that Hawkins ducks under and follows up with a left that Hawkins also avoids with ease. Samuel throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hawkins's waist but Hawkins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Samuel off to one side. Samuel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hawkins. Samuel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Joe Hawkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Samuel scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hawkins in his tracks. Samuel darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Samuel working Hawkins over with strikes. Samuel working the head and body with strikes. Samuel tries to stand and escape but Hawkins is controlling the position. Hawkins looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Samuel looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hawkins with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Ground and pound from Samuel.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Samuel winds up and cracks Hawkins with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Samuel slips a nice elbow through Hawkins's hands, connecting with Hawkins's forehead.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Samuel shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hawkins's guard. Hawkins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hawkins is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Samuel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hawkins on the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Samuel is looking to stand up but Hawkins won't let him. Hawkins preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Samuel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hawkins utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Samuel throwing strikes from guard but Hawkins blocks nicely. Hawkins throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Samuel tries to stand but Hawkins is controlling from the bottom. Hawkins controls Samuel momentarily but Samuel frees himself. Hawkins has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Samuel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Samuel keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hawkins's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Samuel wanted to stand there but Hawkins had control of the position. Hawkins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Samuel won't allow Hawkins to sweep him here. Hawkins has momentary wrist control but Samuel slips an elbow through the middle. Samuel scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Samuel stands up from guard. Let's bang! Hawkins shoots in and bounces Samuel off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hawkins is pushing down on Samuel's leg trying to pass to half guard. Samuel is fighting to maintain full guard but Hawkins has managed to sneak the leg through. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eli Samuel dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Samuel throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Samuel looks to land a body kick but Hawkins moved away. Samuel misses with a two punch combination.
Hawkins looks to land a combination but Samuel avoids it well. Hawkins with a poor takedown and Samuel counters with a lovely straight right hand! Samuel connects with a nice looking jab.
Samuel tries to work over Hawkins's front leg with a kick but Hawkins checks it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Samuel fails to land with a series of punches.

Hawkins shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Samuel's guard. Samuel is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Hawkins forces his way into half guard. Hawkins is pressing down on Samuel's thigh, looking to free his foot. Samuel is holding on for now. Hawkins wants to advance to full mount but Samuel doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Hawkins throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Samuel works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hawkins thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Samuel throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Samuel lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hawkins! Samuel connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Samuel cracks Hawkins with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hawkins won't allow Samuel to get back to his feet. Hawkins trying to control but Samuel is working from the bottom. Samuel is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hawkins is controlling him. Samuel keeping moving, preventing Hawkins from controlling successfully. Hawkins looking to pass the guard. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hawkins shoots and misses and Samuel counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hawkins won't be happy with that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eli Samuel dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Hawkins closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Hawkins moves into full mount! Samuel sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Hawkins is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Samuel sees it coming and defends easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Samuel works his way to full guard. Good work. Samuel looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hawkins postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Samuel is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hawkins, into his guard. Hawkins escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Samuel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Samuel seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Eli Samuel overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
