Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Newton Fandango (ranked 2900 p4p, 254 weight class) and Island King (ranked 3782 p4p, 299 weight class). Newton Fandango has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Newton Fandango!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Island King!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fandango closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fandango definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
King striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Fandango is working King over with some ground and pound from side control.
Fandango prevents King from escaping the position.
Fandango is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down King's shoulder. That is not cool.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Check out the look on Fandango's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
King throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

King escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fandango gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

King is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fandango defends well.
King has momentary wrist control but Fandango slips an elbow through the middle.
Fandango is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that King can do to turn this around?

Fandango got a little sloppy there for a moment and King has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fandango has managed to get both his arms back between King's legs - danger averted.

King is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fandango defends well.

Fandango will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

King has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Fandango doesn't defend quickly enough and King has managed to lock this one up! Can Fandango escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to King on a fantastic submission victory.
