Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Merlin (ranked 2013 p4p, 235 weight class) and Pedro Chang (ranked 3956 p4p, 387 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pedro Chang!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Merlin avoids a kick to the body.
Chang throws a half hearted mid kick.
Chang throws a lazy uppercut
and Merlin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Chang keeping moving, preventing Merlin from controlling successfully.
Merlin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Chang is keeping the position for now.
Chang manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Merlin manages to get himself to full guard.

Chang trying to control but Merlin is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Merlin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Merlin is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Wookies Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Chang trying to control the position from guard on top but Merlin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Merlin has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Chang should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Merlin has tightened it up now! Chang should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
