Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Erik Odinsson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ade Takulai! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Odinsson lands with a shot to the body. Takulai moves out of range as Odinsson strikes. A head kick from Takulai lands but Odinsson takes it in his stride. Takulai moves away from the strike by Odinsson. Takulai has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Odinsson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Takulai pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Odinsson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Takulai counters with a head kick. That will keep Odinsson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! A slapping leg kick lands for Takulai.
Takulai tries a head kick but it misses.
Takulai slips under a jab. Takulai is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Odinsson looks to land a left hand but Takulai moved out of range nicely. Takulai throws a fast counter high kick but Odinsson manages to duck under it in time. Odinsson throws a nice inside leg kick. Odinsson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Odinsson throws a sloppy head kick and Takulai moves out of range easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Odinsson avoids the head kick by Takulai.
That's one minute gone in the round. Odinsson fakes the leg kick and cracks Takulai in the body. Odinsson connects with the punch. Odinsson avoids the head kick by Takulai.
Odinsson goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Takulai tries a head kick but it misses.
Takulai takes a jab right on the kisser.
Takulai tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Odinsson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Takulai misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Odinsson lands with an uppercut that bounces Takulai off the cage and back into range. Odinsson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Takulai stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Odinsson lands a big head kick that sends Takulai tumbling to the mat! Odinsson takes a step backwards and waves Takulai back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Takulai is rocked! Takulai takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Takulai is still on wobbly legs! Can Odinsson finish him? Takulai looks winded!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Odinsson throws an uppercut from hell that sends Takulai clean off his feet! He's out cold! Odinsson stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Erik Odinsson! An out of breath Erik Odinsson thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
