Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Collins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ash Road! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Road takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. A big left from Road misses. Road feints and as Collins raises his hands in defense, Road changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Road stands up over Collins, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Road scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Road throwing strikes but missing. Road trying to control but Collins is working from the bottom. Road in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Collins avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Road engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Collins looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Collins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Road is fighting to break Collins's control of his arms but Collins is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Collins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Collins wants to stand but Road is controlling the position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Collins has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Road is proving hard to escape from. Collins is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Road lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Road won't allow Collins to sweep him here.

Collins working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Road. Collins wants to stand and escape but Road is having none of it. Our spies down at at Kombat Hangar 18 inform us that Road has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Collins looking to sit in guard and control but Road gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Road is stalling in the full guard. Collins displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Collins lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Road circles away quickly and effectively. Collins scores with a decent looking hook. Road shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Collins defends it nicely. Collins throws a one two combo.
A punch lands to the side of Road 's head but he takes it in his stride. Road has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Road is rocked! Collins is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Road can do to turn this around?
That's one minute gone in the round. Road fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Collins sprawls well initially but Road persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Road slips a nice elbow through Collins's hands, connecting with Collins's forehead. Collins is looking for a sweep. Road is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Road takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Road connects with a nice short shot to Collins's temple. Collins on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Road sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Collins defending well though. Collins wants to get back to his feet. Road is trying to work for a kimura but Collins is defending well.
Road looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Collins with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Road lands with a punch from half guard.

Collins has hold of Road's hands but Road slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Road drops an elbow to the side of Collins's head. Road scoring with strikes to the body and head. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Road lands a nice short elbow. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Road working the head and body with strikes. Collins tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Road manages to move to mount!

Oh Collins is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Collins takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Road pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Road cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Collins takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Road's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
