The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carmo gets the takedown into side control.
Carmo throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Meikalainen is trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meikalainen tries to bench press Carmo off him but Carmo keeps the position.
Carmo advances to full mount.
Carmo unloads with some shots from mount but Meikalainen bucks and avoids them well.
Meikalainen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Carmo breaks from Meikalainen's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Carmo has hold of Meikalainen's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Meikalainen manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Carmo throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Carmo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Meikalainen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Meikalainen and Carmo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Carmo tries for a kimura but Meikalainen is defending well.

The strikes coming from Carmo are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Carmo working the strikes but Meikalainen uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Meikalainen wants to improve his position but Carmo is controlling well.
Carmo is taking a breather. Meikalainen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Meikalainen wants to get back to his feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Carmo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Meikalainen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Carmo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carmo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Meikalainen keeps working.
Carmo stalling.
Carmo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Meikalainen looks like he's trying to stand up.
Carmo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Meikalainen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Meikalainen moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Carmo won't allow Meikalainen to sweep him here.
Carmo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Meikalainen lands a head shot.
It looks like Lucio Francisco Carmo has been cut.
Carmo fails with the takedown
and Meikalainen counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

A body shot lands from Carmo.
Carmo goes for a takedown attempt but Meikalainen pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Carmo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Carmo lands a jab to the head.
A punch lands to the side of Meikalainen 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Meikalainen throws the left hand but Carmo avoids the punch easily.
Carmo feinted with a counter takedown.

Meikalainen moves into range and connects with a jab.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Meikalainen thumps Carmo with a low kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carmo works Meikalainen's body with a nice hook.
Meikalainen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Carmo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Meikalainen misses with a few strikes there.
Carmo connects with a right hand. Meikalainen shakes it off.
Meikalainen tries to clinch up but Carmo circles away and keeps his distance.
Carmo darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Meikalainen swings for the body but Carmo moves out of range.
Carmo lands a nice shot to the body.
Meikalainen doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Carmo takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carmo closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Meikalainen! Carmo dives in looking to finish! Meikalainen is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lucio Francisco Carmo!
